Our hiring process mirrors our business philosophy: Your merit matters more than name-dropping a curated list of people who will vouch for you.

Who are you? Do you share our values? Will you honor your commitments?

Only you can answer these questions. Only you can live up to higher standards of honor, performance, and outcomes.

Your biggest threshold for acceptance isn't the friends and colleagues who vouch for you - it's whether you can uphold the Honor Code, meet the standards we set for every Adjuster at Better Insurance, and mentor those under your leadership to do the same.

Section 4: Accountability Agreement

Senior Investigator Honor Code Agreement

By submitting this application, I affirm and agree to the following:

  1. Uncompromising Truth: All investigations, findings, and recommendations will be based solely on evidence, expert analysis, and sound methodology. I will never fabricate evidence, misrepresent findings, predetermine conclusions, or allow any external pressure to compromise my integrity. My reputation as an expert depends on absolute honesty.

  2. No Conflicts or Corruption:  I will not accept money, gifts, or any compensation from clients, vendors, attorneys, experts, or any party to investigations beyond my authorized payment from Better Insurance. I will disclose any relationships that could create conflicts of interest, including past business relationships with parties to investigations.

  3. Investigation Excellence:  All investigations will be conducted with the thoroughness required for litigation, prosecution, or regulatory proceedings. I will coordinate appropriately with law enforcement, expert consultants, and legal counsel. I will document findings with prosecution-grade quality knowing they may become public record or courtroom evidence.

  4. Regional Leadership Accountability:  As Regional Senior Investigator, I am responsible for the quality and integrity of all investigations in my region. I will mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 adjusters with the goal of developing their skills and maintaining Better Insurance's standards. I will conduct quality control reviews thoroughly and honestly, providing constructive feedback while maintaining professional relationships. I understand that patterns of poor performance in my region reflect on my leadership and oversight capability

  5. Vendor and Industry Accountability:  When I identify organized fraud, systemic vendor misconduct, or industry abuse patterns, I will document comprehensively and provide actionable intelligence that protects not just Better Insurance but the broader insurance market. I understand my work may result in public blacklisting, criminal prosecution, license revocations, and precedent-setting enforcement actions.

  6. Safety and Judgment: I will assess risk appropriately and coordinate with law enforcement when investigations involve dangerous individuals or situations. I will not compromise my safety or that of others. I will exercise sound judgment about when to escalate, when to involve authorities, and when situations exceed my capability.

  7. Professional Boundaries:  I will maintain appropriate boundaries with all parties while building rapport necessary for effective investigation. I will not be intimidated or influenced. I will report any attempts at bribery, threats, or improper influence immediately.

  8. Confidentiality and Sensitive Information:  I will handle highly sensitive information (financial records, medical records, surveillance footage, law enforcement intelligence) with appropriate security and confidentiality. I will comply with all legal requirements for evidence handling, chain of custody, and privacy protections.

  9. Expert Testimony Standards:  If I provide expert testimony, I will adhere to the highest standards of objectivity and honesty. I will present findings accurately, acknowledge limitations of analysis, and never advocate beyond what evidence supports. I understand false testimony can result in perjury charges, license revocation, and permanent professional destruction.

  10. Regulatory and Legal Compliance:  I will maintain all required licenses, credentials, and liabiity insurance. I will comply with all applicable laws and regulations. I will cooperate fully with any regulatory investigations while exercising appropriate legal rights.

  11. Public Record Acknowledgement:  I understand my investigations may result in public blacklisting of vendors with detailed case information published, criminal referrals with my findings forming the basis of prosecution, regulatory complaints supported by my documentation, and civil litigation where my work is scrutinized by opposing counsel. I will conduct all work with the knowledge it may become public and must withstand evidentiary and bias challenges.

  12. Enforcement Acknowledgement:  I understand that violations may result in immediate removal, public documentation of enforcement action, blacklisting from the Better Insurance ecosystem, referral to state licensing authorities, and potential civil or criminal liability depending on violation severity.

  13. Continuous Excellence:  I agree to participate in Better Insurance's elite performance standards, accept peer review, engage in ongoing professional development, and mentor developing adjusters when appropriate.

  14. Honor-bound Perceptions: My evaluations, claims submissions, and reports will reflect an impartial, evidence-based, detail-oriented perspective at all times for the benefit of both Clients and Vendors. I will not promote victimhood or entitlement, and I acknowledge that I am duty-bound to tell the truth in every finding to Better Insurance regardless of what the costs, impacts, or feelings might be.

Section 5: Senior Investigator Self-Rating

This rating will be compared against case outcomes, audit results, and Better Insurance reviews. Using the rating scales and criteria from the Adjuster pages, rate yourself honestly with the knowledge that this counts for 33% of your overall rating, with inflated self-reporting being an indicator of potential gaps between perception and performance.
