References

We will not ask for references until after we interview you.

Our hiring process mirrors our business philosophy: Your merit matters more than name-dropping a curated list of people who will vouch for you.

Who are you? Do you share our values? Will you honor your commitments?

Only you can answer these questions. Only you can live up to our standards.

Your biggest threshold for acceptance isn't the friends and colleagues who vouch for you - it's whether you can uphold the Honor Code and meet the standards we set for every Adjuster at Better Insurance.

Licensed Adjuster Honor Code Agreement

By submitting this application, I affirm and agree to the following:

  1. Truth and Impartiality:  All investigations, findings, and recommendations will be based solely on evidence and analysis. I will never fabricate evidence, misrepresent findings, or allow bias to influence my determinations. My job is to find truth, not to minimize payouts or achieve predetermined conclusions.

  2. No Kickbacks or Conflicts:  I will not accept money, gifts, or any compensation from clients, vendors, attorneys, or any party to a claim beyond my authorized payment from Better Insurance. I will disclose any personal or financial relationships that could create conflicts of interest.

  3. Investigation Integrity:  All interviews, site inspections, evidence collection, and analysis will be conducted thoroughly and documented accurately. I will not cut corners, rush investigations, or submit incomplete work to meet arbitrary deadlines.

  4. Vendor Accountability:  When I identify vendor fraud, overcharging, collusion, or misconduct, I will document it thoroughly and exercise my authority to negotiate fair pricing, authorize alternative vendors, and recommend blacklisting when warranted. I understand vendor fraud harms honest clients and honest vendors alike.

  5. Professional Conduct: I will treat all parties with respect while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. I will not be intimidated, threatened, or pressured into changing findings. I will report any attempts to influence my determinations improperly.

  6. Confidentiality and Privacy:  I will protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality of case information in accordance with applicable laws and Better Insurance policies. I will not discuss cases publicly or disclose information to unauthorized parties.

  7. Regulatory Compliance:  I will maintain all required licenses, insurance, and continuing education. I will comply with all state insurance regulations and industry standards. I will report any regulatory actions taken against me immediately.

  8. Blacklist Disclosure Acknowledgement:  I understand that my investigations may result in vendors being publicly blacklisted on Better Insurance's website with specific violations and information I presented as part of my discovery / findings. I will document findings thoroughly knowing they may become public record.

  9. Enforcement Acknowledgement:  I understand that violations may result in immediate removal from the Licensed Adjuster network, public documentation of enforcement action, potential blacklisting from the Better Insurance ecosystem, and referral to state licensing authorities. There is no appeal, reinstatement, or secondary review for violations of good faith or corrupt behavior.

  10. Continuous Improvement:  I agree to participate in Better Insurance's three-source rating system (self-assessment, outcomes audit, supervisory review). I will accept coaching and feedback professionally and work to maintain or improve my performance.

  11. Honor-bound Perceptions: My evaluations, claims submissions, and reports will reflect an impartial, evidence-based, detail-oriented perspective at all times for the benefit of both Clients and Vendors. I will not promote victimhood or entitlement, and I acknowledge that I am duty-bound to tell the truth in every finding to Better Insurance regardless of what the costs, impacts, or feelings might be.

Section 5: Licensed Adjuster Self-Rating

This rating will be compared against case outcomes, audit results, and Better Insurance reviews. Using the rating scales and criteria from the Licensed Adjuster pages, rate yourself honestly with the knowledge that this counts for 33% of your overall rating, with inflated self-reporting being an indicator of potential gaps between perception and performance.
